Work continues, yet stays the same.

At work I've been assigned a task that will pretty much run
concurrently with the project I've been working on since late
September. The new project has a crushing schedule so for the next 6
weeks I'm going to be pretty much completely tied up and unable to do
much Spindle work.

Tonight is the last large chunk of free time I'll have for a while. I
was considering what I could accomplish in Spindle in one night.

Not much.

Instead I'm going to look ahead at the, currently, embryonic state of
Tapestry 5.

Howard polled the community on the idea that Tapestry 5 abandon all
backwards compatibility and start from a clean slate. The response was
positive. Things like Pages/Components as true Pojos are among the
stated goals for T5 that is a goal I am definitely in favour of.

I'm not sure where the effort on T5 stands and since I'm going to be
unavailable for a while I figure I'd better get my 2 cents in now.

I'll be posting my thoughts on T5 to the Tapestry developer list later
this evening if anyone is interested in having a look. Please do look
and please do join in the debate.

A healthy debate on the direction of T5 will pay off down the road
with a better, easier to use, and more powerful framework. And, if I
can get a lick in or two, a framework for which it is possible to
build tools for without the agony (yes - I said agony) that the
current thing called Spindle has become.

BTW - I used the word 'agony' in this context for the first time on
Friday in a message I posted to the HiveMind user list. Up to the
moment I typed out a-g-o-n-y in that post I had never connected my
pain with that word. It's the right word.
