gps-2.1.0w-academic-x86-linux and C/C++

I installed todays snapshot, to try it out.

It doesnt seem to have any C/C++ Support like V1.4.0 does "out of the 
box".   Is this normal?  How do I activate it?

Does something have to be configured properly for it to work? I still 
have the last official version installed (in a different location) do 
they conflict with one another?
