Since there is little chance my employer organization will read this, let me vent why this is so. We are running Redhat 7.3, gcc 2.8.1, Gnat 3.15 and GTK 1.x. We have been this way since the project started. They other developers still use GVD. I am the only GPS user and that is an old version. I can't run the newer versions of GPS for some reason, I believe GTK. The project has changed ownership. The new corporation has dropped the number of developers, like you would expect since we're now in maintenance mode. They are full of steam about CMMI, processes and procedures including security. All outside contact will be cut off the Linux boxes and there is talk about "inventory" on the Linux machines to see who has what installed. We do have a support contract with ACT, recently renewed, but I stand little chance in having management obtain ASIS until they are ready for the "great upgrade" they've been promising us. On the other hand, they do pay well. So, I'm stuck using the tools I have. Later e-mails talk about perl and python and that's what I'll try. I'll save ASIS for another day in the far future. >> On Dec 19, 2005, at 6:27 PM, Chris Sparks wrote: >> >>> Have you tried to use ASIS instead? >> >> >> While I believe I could get much more info thru ASIS it has two >> drawbacks. a) steep learning curve, b) I don't know if my >> employer has it.
