This is the closest, as shown below, I could find in the log file you
mentioned.

I removed the directory .gps/ completely and restarted gps. The problem
still remains. Here is addtional information. Select Project -> Edit
Project Properties. The dialog is displayed. Select cancel button. The
dialog goes away. Then, select Project -> Edit Project Properties again.
The dialog displayed. But, the Switches tab disappears.
