The GPS 3.1.2 32 bit binaries for Linux run fine on amd64 linux,
you just need to install a couple of libjpeg/libpng 32 bit rpms

The next version (4.0.x) will also fully support x86-64 architectures
natively, and can be built from CVS in the mean time.
