Code Coverage check box Under Ada Tab

I do not know what code coverage check box, Edit Project Properties ->
Switch -> Ada, does. I have read the GPS document, but I did not find
its description. When the code coverage check box is checked, option
-ftest-coverage -fprofile-arcs is filled in the bottom dialog box.
