Thanks for your reply.

In fact I have a lot of typing problems under Ubuntu 9.10. Basically the 
3rd level chooser doesn't work so the problem may be not related to 
GPS... Several people have posted bug reports... Wait and see...
Also Ubuntu 9.10 introduced a new input method which may not be 
compatible with my current version of GtkAda...
