In my case, I run the FireFox extension "NoScript" which disables Javascript on all sites, except for those that I explicitly allow.

That is a little too spendy. I work from home and I use my computer
religiously. So the first problem is converting those pictures of
letters into the computer's internal representation of the equivalent
letter. Depending on who you ask, the answer is yes, or no.

Excessive heat is more of a danger than the number of times you turn the
computer off and on.

It's been in use now for years and even though many expected it we
haven't heard of widespread issues due to WPA. You may not be behind a

So like I said at the beginning, what you describe is not only possible,
it's an epidemic. A friend of mine told me it is better to not turn off
my desktop computer every night, instead to turn it off every few nights
and just put it on standby every night. It's still the one machine.
