Is there any way you can work around this by launching Komodo as an
administrator/root then doing "Check for Updates"? On Linux and Mac OS
X you can do this with 'sudo', on Windows you might need to log in as
an administrator then run Komodo and apply the update, but you'd
presumably have to do that anyway when re-installing with the MSI.
Which operating system are you running Komodo on?

If you're logged in, you should see a "Komodo IDE 5" link which will
take you to a page with license and installer downloads.
