Depending on how you connect to the internet, your hostname could be
changing every time you connect.  The problem here is that Komodo stores
part of every user's profile in a hostname-dependent directory (which makes
sense for people who use Komodo on multiple machines but want to share
the common profile across all of them).

The FAQ will show you how to work around this.

It's possible that this will solve the second problem,
but I'll let Todd handle that one.
