No it shouldn't affect Komodo - as XULRunner is not affected.

It more affects these particular projects (cleaning up stuff 
Mozilla/Firefox doesn't use itself):
   gtkmozembed
   javaxpcom
   the ActiveX control
   the NSView embedding widget
