+1 on this idea. I frequently find myself working on projects where not everyone is using an editor that trims all trailing whitespace... it's pretty annoying that whenever I touch a file to make a small change and check it in, the changeset shows changes on random lines throughout the file where Komodo cleaned up. But, for files that I myself am creating I love the trailing whitespace cleanup. This would be a great compromise!
