1) Tourism and Public Transport. Travelling the City 2:
Touristic Information de Luxe - for All.
     Creating inclusive information environments;
making visitors wish to come again

     28 July - 8 August 2003
     Salzburg, Austria / Europe

The central theme of the summer academy is the influence of
our increasingly aging society on tourism. The academy will
focus on how changing demographics will require changes in
infrastructure and services. The Summer Academy will closely
relate to the 'European Year of People with Disabilities'
with respect to an aging society.

As tourists get older part of the travel experience will be
influenced by their own physical change, they will suffer
from one or more disabilities that may not be obvious.

The summer academy will analyse inclusive, tourist
specific information and its presentation, look at technical
requirements and psychological aspects, and consider feedback
mechanisms to continuously improve information systems.

Students are exposed to the fundamentals of cross-disciplinary
team dynamics, sharable problem solving language, and information
design principles in the context of real world problems.

This Information Design Summer Academy will focus on tools which
support working relationships between people.

Our goal is to supply the participants with a comprehensive
methodology, which will make them competent to tackle
complex Information Design tasks.

The briefing for the specific design tasks is going to
be developed in close cooperation with partners from
the industry.

This will provide participants not only with an understanding
of professional requirements, but also add up-to-date
references to their portfolios.

Early-bird deadline for registrations is MAY 31st!
