Sorry to be a little late in this discussion, a bit of
email fatigue happening. :)

I have previously used "20 questions" as a way to generate
facets from a domain. In particular to understand what
elements of a picture (in the case of microscopy images) or
web sites (in the case of a web directory) are the users
interested in seeing, searching or browsing by to find that
object.
