I would add to Claudio's the following NKOS -Networked Knowledge Organization Systems/Services http://nkos.slis.kent.edu/ FISH - Forum on Information Standards in Heritage http://www.mda.org.uk/fish/index.htm as they are deploying and developing vocabularies in the area of heritage (museums, archives and libraries) ... I also find important to follow TREC developments Text REtrieval Conference (TREC) http://trec.nist.gov/ and last but not the least these two Web Ontology Working Group http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/WebOnt/ SemanticWeb.org - The Semantic Web Community Portal http://www.semanticweb.org/ btw.
