Okay - I'll bite. I teach courses in the lib and info sci school at Simmons in the area of organization (subject analysis, thesaurus construction, classification, information architecture) and have an interest going back three decades. One of my mentors during my master's in lib sci at McGill was David Batty, who turned me on to faceted classification, while reading works by Lancaster and Salton got me excited by automatic classificiation, which is what I did for my doctorate at Syracuse. So this group is a nice way to keeop up to date in how faceted classification in gaining a bunch of new adherents and apps.
