Hi, Andrew Hallam, an independent software consultant based in Australia. I'm interested in how information can be collected and published in ways that makes it efficient to access. A significant proportion of my work involves geospatial data (presented as maps) which involves some interesting information access and information design issues. e.g. How do you show 90,000 point locations on a map that fits on your screen? During a project last year I had the opportunity to build a simple faceted system for classifying web resources related to disaster/emergency management. You can view the prototype at: http://maps.digitalearth.com.au/ausdin/index.jsp I'm also interested in using faceted classification to manage all the user created files on my PC using a combination of automatically generated categories (e.g. content type, size, date) and manually created categories (e.g. client, purpose, etc). Version control would be nice as well. Anyone know of anything that works? Thanks. -- Regards Andrew Hallam Solution Architect Digital Earth Pty Ltd http://www.digitalearth.com.au ---------- Thanks for playing. Yahoo!
