Nested facets revisited

Hi Folks,
 
Sorry if I bring up an old discussion: nested facets.
 
The problem was:
Some facets are only relevant in some situations
Peter's example:
Electronics store where weight is only relevant when you choose
Camera's, PDA's or Notebooks. Weight is not relevant for switches,
CPU's, etc. 
Conclusion:
We need some type of a conditional facet. Travis came up with the notion
of a "scope". The scope of a facet would determine whether or not a
facet is visible.

Question:
If I go to XFML.org I see there is still no scope defined in XFML. Why?
Is "scope" not the answer to this problem? 
 
I am writing this because I am in a heavy need of such a definition.
