I've adopted the word "heading" for the next facetmap rev, thanks to 
a suggestion from Kevin Keck. I prefer it over "topic" or "subject" 
simply because those terms suggest that you're classifying the 
subject matter of the resource. Many facets don't have anything to do 
with the subject matter (e.g. date, author, color, popularity, etc.).

"Heading" seems an agreeable library-oriented term that hasn't 
already been overused in this field ... so I suggest it.
