Hi folks, I'm passing this on from the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW) listserv. Someone from the BBC asked the president of ATTW about how UK technical writers are trained to work on manuals. She would like to interview someone about what's happening in the UK. If you think you are an appropriate person, perhaps you might want to contact her. kind regards, karen schriver ----------------- Members, I am forwarding an inquiry from BBC reporter Michelle Martin. Michelle would like to interview a member or members in the UK about instruction manuals. If you live or are traveling in the UK currently, would you please respond to Michelle directly? I have copied her on this message. Thanks, Kelli ----------------------- Kelli Cargile Cook Associate Professor of Professional and Technical Communication Utah State University President, ATTW =================== From: Michelle Martin [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, July 13, 2009 7:27 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: BBC enquiry Dear Stuart & Kelli, I am a radio producer with the BBC in the UK and I've just started working on a documentary for Radio 4, our main speech channel, about instruction manuals. It's about the history of instruction manuals, and our relationship with them. I came across your association on the internet, as I'd like to find out more about how technical writers are trained. I was wondering whether you have any UK sections, or active members, who I could contact as I'm struggling to find useful information on the internet about this!
