Dear InfoDesign readers, I have a rather odd request; not really a discussion. I hope it won't be against the group's guidelines or theme. I was recently awarded a funded fellowship to carry out a short-term professional research in parts of Canada and USA, concerning user testing of new products using haptic technologies. I would like to get in touch with research/usability experts and professionals, especially those testing new products or prototypes with sensor/touch technology, or projects addressing Haptics / Augmented Reality directly. My initial aim is to visit usability labs and research centres (academic or private) to observe their practice and methods; also interview some key people. I am in the process of creating my itinerary for this trip (planning it to be this autumn - October to November), and duration of visits at each institution can be anything from just a day to one-week depending on the nature of the visit (i.e following a full user-testing scenario). I would be grateful for your suggestions and/or invites. Forgot to mention, I will be travelling from the UK. My fellowship covers accommodation and expenses. Perhaps a direct-reply (to i.onol[at]hud.ac.uk) would be better in order to keep the list clean, however I will still be keeping an eye for replies to the group/digest. Many thanks in advance, Isil Onol ________________________________ --- This transmission is confidential and may be legally privileged.
