ACM CHIIR 2022 invites demonstration and resource submissions related to the conference topics of user-centered approaches to the design and evaluation of systems for information access, seeking, retrieval, and use. For a full list of conference topics, please visit the CHIIR 2022 website.

- Demonstration papers should enable presenters to give participants first-hand experience of novel research prototypes, operational systems, or in-progress concepts in development. They provide the opportunity to exchange ideas gained from implementing IR systems and to obtain feedback from expert users. The submission should both describe and show the proposed solution, addressing questions such as: What problem does the prototype/system/concept seek to address? How does it do so? Who are the target users? How will you demonstrate this work? How does the work compare with those that exist already? Finally, how, where, and when will your technology have a technical or commercial impact?

The authors should submit a short video of the demo in addition to the paper describing the work. The authors are also encouraged (but not required) to include a URL where the demo itself can be accessed.

- Resource papers should describe publicly available datasets or open source software that are new or not well-known, allowing researchers to replicate research results and providing a citable paper when using that resource. Resource papers will be evaluated based on the quality of the resource, its novelty compared to other available alternatives, how well it has been described, and its potential for investigating a variety of research questions. For submissions of datasets, authors should provide a public URL for downloading. For submissions of software, the source code, dependencies on external libraries, and installation instructions must be available on a public Web page or in a publicly accessible repository. All datasets and source code must be licensed in such a manner that it can be legally and freely used, at the minimum in academic and research settings.

Appropriate presentation technologies will be facilitated for all demonstrations and resources. Accepted demonstration/resource papers will be included in the conference proceedings.

- Please note the important date of October 26, 2021 for submissions.

- Submission Format: For the review process, your submission must use the ACM Interim Template. This is the usual two-column format.
- Submission Length: Your paper must be no more than 4 pages of content + any number for pages for references. 
- For demonstration and resource papers, the review process is SINGLE-BLIND. Authors should NOT anonymize their work.
- Any paper submissions should NOT be currently under review at another publication venue (other than CHIIR 2022).
- Supplementary Material and Appendices (Optional): You may include supplementary material and appendices as part of your submission. Examples include interview guides, datasets, code, or questionnaire text. Any supplementary material must be uploaded as a single zipped or gzip file. You should not expect that reviewers will examine this material carefully (or at all) during the review process.
