The Yahoo! Content Match team is one of the fastest growing teams at Yahoo!
and is dedicated to build the best worldwide advertisement platform. As a
Senior Matching Engineer, you will develop and improve matching engines to
drive relevance of advertisements to page content and build an attractive
on-line advertisement marketplace. You will create, improve, deploy
innovative algorithms to understand the content of web pages and
advertisements and provide the most accurate matching ads to pages. You
will face new and exciting technical and scientific challenges in the areas
of natural language processing, clustering, text classification and machine
learning.

Job Responsibilities:

Create and improve language processing, machine learning, text
classification, and clustering algorithms.
Work with the data team to define and implement data acquisition processes,
and test methodology, test procedures and test sets, and create very large
datasets.
Collaborate with Yahoo! Research to design innovative text processing
methods, and to design and conduct experiments.
Integrate and deploy Matching Engines in the Content Match architecture.
Minimum Job Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in computational linguistics, text classification,
clustering, data mining, feature extraction, ontologies, statistical
modeling, IR/IE, machine learning.
Proven background in working/building/managing very large datasets.
Mature team player able to absorb divergent, possibly conflicting ideas and
find the optimal solution.
Creative, flexible, and curious thinker with broad experience from which to
draw novel solutions and new solution patterns.
Strong C/C++ coding skills.
Like to work with a fast paced, highly talented team of engineers.
Ability to communicate designs both verbally and through writing.
Preferable Job Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in machine learning or language processing.
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics or a related
area.
