Call For Participation

30th European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR 2008)
Workhops and Tutorials - March 30, 2008 Glasgow, Scotland, UK

For the first time in its history, the 30th annual 
European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR 2008) 
will include a program of tutorials and workshops held 
in conjunction with the conference. 

ECIR is the major European forum for the presentation of new 
research results in the broad field of Information Retrieval. 

Workshops:
* Workshop on novel methodologies for evaluation in 
  information retrieval 
  (full-day event)
* Efficiency Issues in Information Retrieval Workshop 
  (full-day event)
* Exploiting Semantic Annotations in Information 
  Retrieval (full-day event)

Tutorials:
* Advanced language modeling approaches (Case study: Expert search) 
  (half-day event, morning)
* Search and Discovery in User-Generated Text Content 
  (half-day event, afternoon)
* Researching and building IR applications using Terrier 
  (half-day event, afternoon)

Paper submission for workshops is open. More details on the
