Research Associate / PostDoctoral Research Fellow

Applications are invited for the position of postdoctoral research
fellow / research associate / research assistant, to work on the
project "Development and Application of Techniques for Detecting
Equivalent Documents", funded by the Australian Research Council.
Specific areas of investigation include text, images, and source code,
with a focus on large collections and web search.

The project is based in the RMIT University Search Engine group, which
conducts research into the large-scale storage and access of
information in the form of documents, text, and multimedia.  Over the
past decade the Search Engine group has developed significant new
technologies for information retrieval.

As part of this position, the successful applicant will be required to
participate in research activities such as writing research papers and
assisting research students in technical matters related to this
research, including their development of research tools such as
prototype duplicate detection systems.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position, based at the RMIT University
City Campus in Central Melbourne.
Salary ranges between $42,752 - $72,490 per annum depending on
appointment level and qualifications.
