Re: Pragmata = Objects?

Translating the Greek "pragma" with the Latin-rooted "object"
("something thrust in the way") makes sense if we take object
in all of its senses, from object of discussion, inquiry, and
thought ... through intentional object ... to aim, business,
concern, goal, objective, problem, purpose ... all of which
senses are found under the entries for "pragma" and its kin
in Liddell and Scott:
