IA: I would suggest that a proper treatment of Peirce's "Description of a
     Notation for the Logic of Relatives..." would be best served by someone
     leading the discussion who is both a logician and an historian of logic,
     and who has ample time to devote to a slow read and the accompanying
     discussions.

If that is you volunteering then that would be wonderful!

IA: It is a rather sophisticated mathematical paper.  Note, for example,
     that Dan Merrill, in contribution (pp. xlii-xlviii) on that paper in
     the introduction in W2, warned that: (p. xlvii) "For all its importance,
     the Logic of Relatives memoir presents many problems of interpretation.
     Perhaps the most serious issue is whether Peirce is dealing with relations
     or relatives..." before very briefly mentioning other difficulties, technical
     and historical, that he saw with regard to understanding this paper.

Yes, it is rather sophisticated.  I do have a bit of background in math,
and I have after all been cutting my teeth on CP 3 & 4 -- the first book
I ever paid more than $25 for -- for some 45 odd years now.  The relation
between relative terms and relations is fairly easy to understand, once we
have the outlook of sign relations to keep us eternally vigilant about the
distinction between signs and their objects.

IA: This said, I would inquire:  what, would in general be involved in
     undertaking (let alone leading) a[or any] slow read?

Just going by past experience, we always seem to play that by ear, but
I guess it would be a good question for the assembled company to answer.
