Printing Arabic from console

Hello all,

im trying to print out an Arabic UTF-8 file from console by using lpr 
command. But the paper comes out empty.
I have no problem with Latin characters. How do you print arabic text 
files from console?  I have no problem with Gnome print, but no luck 
from console (lpr command).
My system is: Suse 11 x64, locale is en_US_UTF-8

*I tried to use a2ps but i couldnt succeed.
