This release will have full support for affix compression which, of course, is necessary for languages like Finnish. We're wondering if you or members of the KDE Finnish translation team might be interested in helping develop the existing ispell-fi dictionary. It seems that the myspell Finnish dictionary, while (I'm told) it's quite good, is not free software. One approach might be to use some web-crawling software I've written: http://borel.slu.edu/crubadan/ We can generate lists of high-frequency words that aren't in the existing dictionary, then (this is the tricky part) do some "stemming" so that the appropriate root words can be added with the correct affix flags automatically.
