[openi18n-im:01167] OpenOffice- Language option shows only a single char

Hello,

In my system  IIIm shows only a single char in the the the language
option(tooltip text)  in the OpenOffice Writer( on pressing ctrl + Space
bar) and also it is not showing up at all in kde applications(eg. kedit)
eventhough I ran httx. Earlier both the things worked well.. For the past 3
days I am trying to find out the reason for the misbehaviour. Please can
anyone suggest me what i should do to correct the problems.
