Hi,
It's actually working for me. Looks like the problem is with
gnome-im-switcher.
Please try the following:
1. Start the input method server
2. Bring an application (say gedit)
3. Now type <Ctrl+Shift>space to bring up the "Language selection
window"
4. You will see "as_IN" in the list of input methods supported.
