iPod appears as a drive when initially docked but then undocks

When I first dock my iPod it appears as a drive under windows exployer but then disappears from windows exployer and EPHpod cannot find it -of course. If I right click on "unplug or eject HS I still see "Apple Computer_Ine. IPod IEEE SBP2 Device but that is all. How can I keep the iPod visible in windows exployer to use 2.75? Also, I need to know how to erase the old EPHpod data base and start fresh. I did uninstall EPHpod and reinstalled 2.75 but the old database remains. Any hints please or is there an EPHpod command that does this?
