EphPod itself doesn't disconnect the iPod. As soon as the iPod is recognized by your computer, you should have an icon on the tray for ejecting removable devices. That's the one to use (after closing EphPod, of course). If you're using XP, maybe it hid the icon after some time. You can also install the Apple software and set EphPod as the default app. I think then the iPod Control launches EphPod as soon as the iPod is found, and dismounts the iPod as soon as you close EphPod. (I don't use this, so not 100% sure). Regards.
