Yeah, I think this is an excellent idea. It would solve mp4 tagging problems. I'm ripping all my CD's to wav with Artist - Album - Track# - Title naming in one big folder, then encoding them later on when things have settled down. On another note, I've been testing the Psytel and Nero encoders. I can definitely say that I like the Nero encoder better. With the same settings in both encoders, some files in the Psytel had distortions or warbles but not with the Nero encoder. Moreover, the Nero encoder just sounds better. And Nero makes mp4's that play in QT for Windows, WinAmp, and on the ipod (just change the extension) without having to do all this aac/mp4 stuff. For making mp4's from aacenc_mpeg4, the mp4creator60.exe that comes with the aac converter from dBpoweramp works. Other versions don't work. I don't know how to do batch processing with it though. > Also, when Ephpod gets tagless files dropped on it, how about looking at > that "Naming Convention for Copied Songs" template for a clue as to a guess > at tags?
