Should I get a Win or Mac iPod?

I'm currently the happy owner of an original Mac 5Gb iPod. I plan on becoming the happy owner of a new 15Gb iPod... I don't have a Mac - I'm currently using MacDrive & Ephpod on my PC. I = don't have USB2 at the moment. Is the hardware of the new iPod identical with Mac & Windows versions, = as it was in the old ones? So presumably I can swap to a different format if I change my mind = later... Do they both support USB2? Do the Windows iPods work on Macs? I'd like to be able to use it on the = odd occasion I stay at my parents' house, who have a Mac. As long as the hardware is identical & I can swap between the two by reformatting, I guess it doesn't matter, but I figured I better check. Is the MusicMatch software that comes with the PC version downloadable somewhere?
