Yeah I tried that. I'm at my wits end here. The iPod is getting power from 
the firewire card, so the actual card is connected and functioning, I regularly 
edit DV and that works fine. It just seems to hate the iPod now. could it be a 
faulty firewire cable perhaps? I would try to use the one that comes with my 
DV camera but they aren't the correct size to be interchangable and I don't 
have the adapter. It's the only thing I can think of at this point. I just don't 
understand why it has worked with my machine for 6 months now, and now it 
doesn't.
