That works great! Cool hack. RU -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Richard Lawler Sent: Tuesday, June 03, 2003 9:05 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [ephpod] Making EphPod the Home Application with iPod 2.0 This might be of interest to others using new 2.0 iPods. You can make EphPod the iPod Manager's Home Application and make in start automatically when the iPod is connected by making the following addition to the Windows registry. Warning: messing with the registry can mess things up! Run Regedit. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apple Computer Inc.\iPod\RegisteredApps add a new key and give it a unique number (I noticed the all the values there are powers of 2) so I made mine "4" since that was missing. Add three new string values within that key. Name them "cmdline", "name" and "path". Set the value of "name" to "Ephpod". Set the path in "path" to point to the Ephpod executable e.g. "c:\Program Files\EphPod\EphPod.exe". Then plug in your iPod, and after iPod Manager sees it click "Change Home Application". Ephpod will now be in the list. Choose it and check the box in iPod Manager to launch home application on iPod plug in. - Richard Lawler (richardl *at* well *dot* com) ------------------------------------------------------ ephPod Mailing List FAQ and HomePage http://www.ephpod.com mailto:[email protected] to susbcribe mailto:[email protected] to unsusbcribe mailto:[email protected] the mailing-list itself ------------------------------------------------------ ephPod Mailing List FAQ and HomePage http://www.ephpod.com mailto:[email protected] to susbcribe mailto:[email protected] to unsusbcribe mailto:[email protected] the mailing-list itself
