Volume adjusting?

Good evening, Have been using ephpod 2.59 for months now to sync my ipod and have been using musicmatch 7.5 for ripping and tagging. I have a question and was wondering if anyone could offer any help. I have a pair of cds from a concert I was at; its something that means a lot to me and would like to preserve them as much as possible. The cds sounds fine only if I crank up the volume on my stereo to obscene levels...was wondering if there is a piece of software to maybe get the volume to be louder so I can add it to my ipod. Is this even possible?
