Macopener is not necessary if you are willing to reconfigure your iPod as a
FAT32 windows iPod.  See http://www.the-midfield.com/ipod.aspx for as to how
to do this.  You will most likely loose all the music on the iPod as a
result of the conversion process, so be prepared to re-transfer all your
music mp3s to your post-conversion winpod.

When I start Ephpod it says..."Ephpod cannot read your ipod drive. Check to
see if your drive reading software has expired."

It was working fine during macopener's trial period. However, I heard that
macopener wasn't necessary.

I'm using Ephpod 2.7a with Win 98SE.

Any recommendations? Or where can I get a free copy of macopener?

"WMA Studio"

It can transcode WMAs to MP3s.  It's not freeware but it has a 30 day
trial period.

If you have the time, you are probably better off re-ripping your CDs
to MP3 format, as you will lose some quality transcoding from
WMA->MP3...
