Kevin, >So I downloaded the latest Updater tool for the iPod. I plug the iPod in, run the tool, it updates and then tells me to disconnect the iPod. I unplug the iPod, and then it doesn't turn on. > >The only thing it does now is when I connect it to the computer or I press a button, the apple shows up for about 8 seconds and then it shows a little USB logo with an arrow. The last step in an update/restore won't work off the battery. It needs power from the firewire plug. That's what the firewire plug icon means. If you plug it to the PC and it does nothing, then you have an unpowered firewire card. As Casper suggested, plug it to the charger and then it should complete the update. HTH.
