Tried #2...but no such luck. Not sure what I did wrong. Anyone know about 1394 wiring? Are 6pin to 6pin 1394 cables wired "straight-through" (a la ethernet)? Ordered the parts from fontx.com to effect option #3. Another option, I suppose, would be to get a 3.5" drive bay form factor firewire hub. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: J [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, August 18, 2003 11:14 AM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: RE: [ephpod] Firewire card question http://www.usb-2-0.com/usb-2-0-firewire.html No such luck. I have seen USB Motherboard to USB port adapters, but no Firewire adapters. I say you have two options..well three. 1. Keep searching for an adapter or PCI card (or what for other replies) 2. Make your own adapter by mutilating a firewire cable and soldering the proper connections onto the end of the front panel cable 3. Rip out the existing front panel cable and replace it with a 6pin Male to Female cable. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gordon Harris Sent: Monday, August 18, 2003 12:13 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [ephpod] Firewire card question Anyone know of a PCI firewire adapter with an internal pinned connector? I just got a new case with a case-front firewire plug, but the cable has a motherboard header style connector. ------------------------------------------------------ ephPod Mailing List FAQ and HomePage http://www.ephpod.com mailto:[email protected] to susbcribe mailto:[email protected] to unsusbcribe mailto:[email protected] the mailing-list itself ------------------------------------------------------ ephPod Mailing List FAQ and HomePage http://www.ephpod.com mailto:[email protected] to susbcribe mailto:[email protected] to unsusbcribe mailto:[email protected] the mailing-list itself
