iPod Plugin?

What is the iPod Plugin discussed in http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=9d6408a30934c7c68fd93d00dfafac0b&threadid=524 (the message about converting from mmjb to EphPod)? Specifically I have this process running called iPodWatcher, which I assume is this Plugin. Do I need it if I am using EphPod? I have no intention of uninstalling mmjb, but I also have no desire whatsoever to ever use mmjb to update my iPod. I'm running XP Pro and I have a Windows iPod.
