False Alarm on that one, I guess

Some info for y'all:

Choosing 'import' on iTunes, and then trying to import an m3u playlist, 
brings in the songs in their proper order.

Dragging the m3u directly onto the playlist window - brings in the 
songs in REVERSE ORDER.

About one of every five times, especially with large playlists (>6k), 
dragging the playlist into iTunes simply fails.

You must drag them one at a time... Dragging several will create one 
big untitled playlist with all the songs in it.

After you've dragged in all your playlists, and everything is hunky 
dory, try moving one of your songs, in one of your imported playlists, 
around on the drive.  iTunes will suddenly not be able to find it.  
Which is typical, since Windows has nothing like the inode structure in 
UNIX-based filesystems.  The problem I've had is, once it reports that 
song as 'not found', suddenly it will not be able to find ANY OF THE 
SONGS you added by dragging in OR importing m3u playlists.

The exception is with songs that are stored on a different drive as the 
playlist.  Those have full pathnames in the playlist, and do not 
suddenly 'get lost'.

If I try to fix the problem by exporting the library as XML, and then 
re-importing it, all the songs I added turn into "HTTP streams", with 
the funny radio icon in front of them, and cannot be played.

Adding the proper "file://localhost/D:/"(etc) pathname to all the 
relative-path files in the XML, and then re-importing, will allow 
iTunes to find them ... SOME OF THE TIME.  But when building the 
playlists at the end of the library, it will randomly choke three or 
four playlists in, and the rest will be empty.

After five frustrating hours of trying to get it to work, I said, 
"screw this".  And went back to EphPod.

And everything was golden again. :)

iTunes for Windows has problems, folks.
