iPhone 4/iPad support and checksum generation

Hello, I notice that there is still no support for music syncing to the iPhone 4 and iPad devices because of issues with some sort of checksum being generated. I would like to lend any assistance possible. Can anyone give me any details they have on which checksum needs to be generated, how to view the checksum on an existing music file added to an iDevice via iTunes, and what approaches have been taken thusfar?
