Nearly what we need. Ideally, we need to call bt in order to backtrace on
what the app is currently doing at that point. It must be stuck in an
anjuta related loop. If you can work out how to set a breakpoint that
would be great, however, I suspect a compiled source version would be
better for that.

Can I check what version of anjuta you are running on your machines?
gtkpod was build using anjuta 2.30 so it maybe a glitch if your running a
later version... witness the grasp of straws ;)
