Probably the easiest way would be for you to download the latest source release from sourceforge [1]. Compilation of a new release is usually done with the following commands: ./configure make make install The configure script will check the sanity of your build environment, ensuring dependent libraries are present etc., whilst the make will actually do the compiling. The 'make install' is optional unless you do want to install it properly into your system. If not, then just run src/gtkpod (the compiled binary). The list of dependencies that need installing for fedora and ubuntu are below [2] [3]. These lists should give you a guide if you are running a different distro. For testing your translation, you need to do the following: 1. Add your po file, downloaded from transiflex to the po directory. 2. Edit the configure.ac file and add spanish to the variable ALL_LINGUAS. 3. Instead of running configure, you will need to run autogen.sh so that the configure script is re-initialised to include your translation. The autogen.sh script runs configure. 4. Compile gtkpod to and see if your language in included. Any problems, let me know. I will aim to pick up your translation and include it in the git repo as soon as I can.
