This distro looks ideal, provided it doesn't crash, like it did at the 
last meeting.

Unfortunately, I'm currently up in Manchester, and without any 
wireless cards, so is anyone interested in testing it?

Sure,

The OS is based on Linux (circa slackware 8.1/kernel 2.4.18)

Protocols are standard IPv4, NAT, AODV(11), DHCP, HTTP, DNS

Clients sign on to a "cell" using standard dhcp - everything is in ad-hoc
 mode on channel 6. Depending on how things are setup, local clients are
 either spoofed to connect directly to the cell and a transparent proxy
 carries web traffic, or they can be given external "real" dns servers and
 then route full IP traffic.

The cells use AODV to form a mesh, gateway addresses are discovered using
mobile agents and each local cell picks a number of gateways to use based on
reachability/performance.

Things are not complete yet, eg this is a test release, but there is quite a
clear path now to finish it off. There is also an american organisation
promising a 6000 node test (they funded the hardware for the prototypes etc).
