Initial Comment:
Currently ISPMan/Postfix, when a user set's a
forwarding address, delivers both to the local mailbox
and the forwarded address.

For me this is bad.
I'd hate to see users that mail a user I host, but has
a forwarding address, to get bounces because the local
mailbox has it's quota in full use.

My sugestion is add an extra option, 'forwards only'.

With this setting, the message arriving for a user with
a forward address, would only be forwarded and not also
delivered localy.

How would one implement this in the user's ldap entry?
Well, if 'forwards only' is set, the user's
mailRoutingAddress would be equal to
mailForwardingAddress and the virtual_alias_maps ldap
lookup would only(and always) retrieve the
mailRoutingAddress.
If 'forwards only' is not set, mailRoutingAddress would
be mapped like it used to be, and the
mailForwardingAddress, well, would be the email forward
address, yet, one would only retrieve the
mailRoutingAddress for the virtual_alias_maps ldap lookup.

I understand what you are trying to achieve and the benefits
of that, but there are two different workarounds:

1) delete the user, and recreate as a mailgroup with a
single address

2) use Sieve filters for forward all mail without keeping a
local copy

A we might just temporarely setup forwarding for a user, so
why shoudl we delete the mailbox?

If a user was setup with a mailbox, the mailbox should only
be deleted if and when the user is deleted.

About the forwarding, it should be ISPman's work, to delete
the mailRoutingAddress attribute when setting up forwarding
afterwards. But since we might want to have it deliver to
both addresses, hence my sugestion for a checkbox with a var
of 'forwarding only'. This way we can have both behaviours.

I leave the ticket closed because I was not the one to close
it, but in my opinion, the ticket should be open.

That's not necessary as everything is already there.

When creating a user, you may select "forwarding only" when
selecting the mail server.
This will route mail only to the mailRoutingAddress.

Changing this afterwards is currently not supported by
ISPMan itself. This would require additional logic that
creates/deletes the mailbox on change.

Nevertheless, for a user with local delivery, you may just
delete the mailRoutingAddress attribute to disable any local
delivery.
