Initial Comment:
If you have vhost www.mydomain.de and want to add the website alias "mydomain.de" (without www) then the cname "mydomain.de IN CNAME www" is added to bind conf, i.e. you ping mydomain.de.mydomain.de then, but not ping mydomain.de. I also tried to add "mydomain.de." as alias. Doesnt work either.
The right way would be to a ".   IN CNAME www" to the zonefile, and mydomain.de as alias in httpd.conf, or, alternatively an A record.
