Split dns and ispman-agent

Hi all,

I am new to the list and ispman too. I have not clear the complete 
functionality of ispman yet.

I am trying to install ispman on a Debian (testing), after following Tony 
Wasson's documentation and good advices. Now I am blocked because of an 
error that could be related to another problem.

We have a firewall, several DMZ's, but our present services, related not 
only to an ISP activity but also to an intranet reality of public services 
to citizens, applications and databases are really bad configured, 
depending on a really bad DNS configuration: some machines have the DNS and 
the services too and we have to configure services depending on the dns, 
network and machine position.

I thought of a split dns configuration, in which a dns server and its 
replicas could answer in different ways, depending on the origin of the 
query. It seems to me that bind 9 , although always strongly attacked,  can 
solve these problems.

My question is : May I use bind in another machine (inside the dmz with a 
split configuration) and tell ispman to ignore all dns positions ? Can it 
work ?

My next question is probably related to the previous one, I do not know. I 
encounter an error if I try to start the ispman agent.

If I launch

/opt/ispman/bin/ispman-agent nodetach

I obtain

Can't use an undefined value as a HASH reference at 
/opt/ispman/bin/ispman-agent line 180.

At line 180 there is:

@hostnames = $ispman->as_array( 
$ispman->getHostInfo($hostname)->{'ispmanHostAlias'} );

I have tried different position on my /etc/hosts file and on the https:// 
about the host config, but it seems to me that nothing works.

At present I have

127.0.0.1       localhost
172.16.0.128    ispman.gol.grosseto.it  ispman

in my /etc/hosts file.

hostname returns <ispman>
hostname --f return <ispman.gol.grosseto.it>

In my web configuration I have create <ispman.gol.grosseto.it> as host, 
created hostgroup and so. Yet in ldap references are to localhost 
(ldaphost=localhost).
Nevertheless, after creating a user, the creation on ldap works, but the 
actions on the directory do not, 3 processes remain suspended since the 
agent does not work.

Do you know what are the problems due to my configuration or what could I 
look at ? What is the variable ispmanHostAlias ?
